Olga Iglesias Project Wins the Arts and Culture Category of EnterPRize 2022 with $20K in Seed Capital from Grupo Guayacán
Press Release
San Juan, Puerto Rico – Olga Iglesias Project, Inc. (OIP) received $20K in seed capital during the end of the year event of Grupo Guayacán, Inc. as winners of the Arts and Culture category of EnterPRize 2022, a business competition the institution has organized every year since 2005.
The road to the prize began in June, when OIP was selected as one of 27 local companies to enter the seventeenth edition of the competition, which distributed more than $285,000 in prizes and grants among its winners. Over five months, the program paired weekly business education workshops on marketing and sales, finance and revenue models, and governance with feedback sessions before a panel of local mentors, building toward the final business plan presentations on November 4 before the jury that chose the winners.
EnterPRize focuses on Puerto Rican start-up companies with early revenue traction, and OIP competed as one of the few cultural nonprofits in the field.
The seed capital allows OIP to continue offering its educational recitals to young people from 12 to 17 years of age. Presented by the artists in residence of the Olga Iglesias Artist Residency, the recitals feature live musical demonstrations of the Puerto Rican classical repertoire alongside historical photos, programs, and videos from the Project's heritage collection, with the singers interacting with the audience throughout.
"We are very proud to belong to the family of Puerto Rican companies supported by Grupo Guayacán! We are honored that they recognize the added value that we are bringing to the cultural market by supporting our talents in the fine arts."
Anthony Cheney Guzmán, Founder and Executive Director of OIP
